SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.90 g, 6 h), uncertain mint I in Cappadocia, Eastern Syria, or Northern Mesopotamia, after 300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEYKOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram; below throne, ΔΙ. SC 50.3. Struck from a deteriorated obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
